Digital technology-
Digital technology is using different platforms of media to create a product which I used fluently in my work to create a well used digital product. In pre production of my product I used simple digital forms like slideshare and other word processing technologies at first, I used this well to capture my ideas of my product by digitally creating dynamic information on my blog so I could access it anywhere with an internet connection.
In production of my media product I used a vary of digital technologies to capture my ideas in forms of videos, I used "magazine production" videos throughout to capture ideas I had, in which i could reference and go back to for inspiration if I decided to change or go back to an original idea, thus helping to create a video diary like digital short in production to refer back to capturing previous ideas.
In post production of my media product I used my digital technologies like hyperlinks to make my product easier to use, get around easier with redirects, thus I and others could direct easily around my ideas which were captured using my blog: a digital technologies.
Digital technologies allowed me to be completely creative throughout my product, Id like to highlight my most creative video I made in the production of my media product, again using video technologies to record myself in my "sketches" video, but I as well as using a cannon 550d SLR with a 55mm prime lense I used a newer gopro hero 4, I used a head mount to record me draw which was the most creative i got, then switching between the go pro recording and my cannon, I used digital technologies like premiere pro to edit this, this allowed me to create a high production valued media product using a mix of digital and physical technologies to create my media product.
There are many advantages to using digital technology in my product rather than analogue, digital systems use discrete values that allow my product to be of a higher quality, newer and more post modern, rather than analogue which would limit my product in how it is created.
Again in post production, as I used mainly videos, my products needed digital technology like premiere pro and after effects to create and put together my media products, without digital technology I wouldn't of been able to create my product, thus digital technology in my post production of the coursework was the most important, not to mention I uploading my videos digitally on video sharing platform Youtube so they could be watched at all.
Creativity-
Research and planning-
The making of new things and the re-arranging of the old."-e.g. the ability to have my own ideas and not just copy other peoples. The ability to do things that are unusual and different, from making production videos of my magazine as a time lapse and using a go pro to record me draw.
My original creative ideas were from imagining what I could do with my product with my available equipment, from creating my photo shoot, I noticed how interesting time lapses looked, thus from there I created a product similar to that which created my magazine production videos, differently, for my go pro video I noticed how some Youtube stars used quick editing and interesting angles to show the subject of a video, thus I used a go pro to record me draw, being completely creative and nothing like works previous to mine. Location wise, I used an old alley in the woods, which had a mossy fence and dark tones of green, which made my images and my front cover look very original, this in turn was creative as other covers were studio covers, thus helping me make my work very creative.
Creativity allowed me to follow a very unique new genre, being an indie teen hipster magazine, thus although sticking to these conventions, I could be creative and artist, which could also adhere to these conventions although not looking copied or similar to other work.
Research and planning-
Research and planning have played a huge role in all of my production work so far and hence my skills have developed massively. My research and planning have made my production work develop in terms of quality.
Institutional research allowed me to understand certain conventions of media products. When researching titles of magazine I were able to understand the order of titles to make my magazine look more convincing and adhere to media magazine conventions to create a better product, when researching conventions I gained an understanding of layout in terms of barcodes, taglines, secondary images and titles to pull audiences on cover pages of magazines.
Audience questionnaires allowed me to find out who my target audience was, what they want they wanted and what they they liked, I found out that my target audiences wanted free cds which I decided to include on my front cover, I also found my target audiences were interested in free tickets to gigs, for nice experiences, which i decided not to include in the front cover but feature it in an article.
Audience focus groups allowed e to personally interact with your target audiences, adding in my questionnaire chances to clarify in better meaning so I could adhere to personal gratifications of the audiences, due to research on my audiences before.

Post Production
I have gone from knowing virtually nothing about post production photo manipulation to now being able to create complex editing of photos, text and magazine format work. At AS photoshop allowed me to manipulate images with effects, colours, cropping, masking, layering images and words. This was vital to my magazine in post production as I could make my magazine look professional and of higher quality, which in turn made me able to create the best possible product for my AS coursework.
At AS, I uploaded videos onto youtube, which I used Premiere pro to edit in post production, I went from no knowledge of premiere to being able to use different effects and plug ins to create the best possible video content, in which I am confident I was able to do, using different use of editing techniques learnt from different previous student's content.
In Indesign I used this program to create an effective digipack, which benefited my magazine production as I could create content faster and easier to adhere to my conventions created.
Use of Real Media conventions
Over the 2 years I have learnt a lot about, not just what the conventions of particular forms and genres are, but to use them in creative ways in your own work.
At AS I identified Firstly I ensured that before I created my magazine I had determined a set house style, and when coming up with a house style I realised that my target audience wouldn’t what to consume my product, as it wouldn’t adhere to their idea of gratification, being very mismatched in society, being a consumer of outdated products like Vinyl yet also consuming products like iPhones for example, therefore my style of my magazine was to be very unconventional in the sense of font colour and style, to give the audience a sense of personal identity as they can look at my front cover and relate to the house style being unmatched yet working in a sense of cohesion.
